What is this opportunities?
The Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) is offering two scholarships for international doctoral researchers to participate in its Graduate School Scholarship Programme "Contentious Politics in the Digital Age" (CoPoDi), funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). BIGSSS is an international graduate school located at the University of Bremen and Constructor University Bremen, Germany.
Benefits
- All financial support including additional allowances and the funding for the language course.
- All office supplies, office space, IT hardware, and general working materials
- Additional courses and fees resulting from a stay abroad need to be applied separately from the DAAD.
- Upon arriving at Bremen, there will be a detailed introduction to the funding processes of the program with the BIGSSS administration.
- 1.300 €/month for up to 48 months and a travel allowance
- health, accident and personal liability insurance cover
- a research allowance of currently € 460 per year
- monthly rent subsidy about € 50 to 125 per month
- monthly allowance for accompanying family members (about € 200 child allowance per child and about € 275 marriage allowance)
- a preparatory German language course (if available, applicable, and feasible, taking into account the starting date of the scholarship).
Eligibility
- International applicant, proficient in English language (C1-level English language skills or equivalent)
- You must not have resided in Germany any time after January 1, 2024.
- MA degree in Sociology, Political Science, Psychology or related social science disciplines, e.g., Law, Economics or Media Sciences.by February 1, 2025
- Encourage applications from the Global South.
